Plenary Session 1: Digital Accounting: Opportunities and Challenges in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

Rui Silva, PHD | University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD)

Rui Silva holds a PhD in Management from the University of Beira Interior (Covilhã, Portugal). He is an Associate Professor with Habilitation at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), belonging to the Department of Economics, Sociology and Management (DESG) of the School of Human and Social Sciences (ECHS), where he teaches several course units on the Bachelor’s degrees in Management, Economics and Tourism, the Master’s degree in Management, and the Doctoral Programme in Development, Societies and Territories. The course units he teaches are: Financial Accounting I and II, Management Accounting, Management Control, Data Analysis, and Investment Projects. He is Director of the Master’s degree in Management and Chair of UTAD’s Gender Equality Committee. He is a senior researcher at the Centre for Transdisciplinary Development Studies (CETRAD), and has published in several scientific journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus. He is also a reviewer for various scientific journals and participates actively in international projects and conferences.
